7mm RM is a great all-around caliber from light bullets and LR varmints to big heavies and LR moose.
Ya I have never really looked into this cartridge for long range, always figured it was an over sized deer shell like most people use it as around here. Then once I saw so many long range guys talking about it that's when it interested me. Just like you said, I have noticed how effectively this round launches lighter bullets and the big VLDs. The numbers are really impressive on it, especially in a 27-28inch barrel! Another 7mm that has caught my eye is the inherently accurate 7mm RSAUM that the Army is using for 1000yd competition. It duplicates the 7mm RM in a short mag case but I don't really care about action length so the short mags don't completely grab my attention.
