Managed to make a 10 day DIY trip work out of an EXO K4 5000 pack. Longest trip I've done, the ~5 miles in with a 100 or so pound pack (camp + front loaded food) was not fun!!
Not the OP, but here is my ultra-nerd'd out 8-day backcountry gear list/breakout for my 2024 elk hunt in BC out of my Exo K4 5000. Tried to upload the Excel file, but the site won't allow it, so its in a PDF. If you want it in the original Excel with all the hyperlinks, you can pm me with an email and can send it to you. No suppressors allowed in CA, so the TBAC Ultra 5 obviously stayed home on this oneLove to see your gear breakdown. Do you have a list?
Gotta LOVE those, EXO Packs !
I'm an Old Light Weight,. 65 Pounds is My, Top weight !
And, 45 Pounds Feels, even Better !
Maybe, 4-5 Day Hunts, Max at, my Age !
Good Job ! Any Luck ??
Very cool. Did the pack slip at all?
Nice! Until I saw the setup, I was wondering how you pulled off ten days with such a "small" pack. Lol
Love to see your gear breakdown. Do you have a list?
All my gear fit, only food was external. It's why I have the 7200. I like all my gear to fit in the bag. So the meat can go in the load shelf. View attachment 609387
That's gear my mind. All my gear fit, only food was external.
You're making that final trip regardless to break down and pack out camp most likely. That's gear my mind.
Point was, your 2 days in to a 10 day hunt and you kill a bull… you're making an additional trip you don't need to. Imo.
