We've had a warm December but some of the small ponds are iced over. Anyone else gearing up and getting ready to go?

Thoughts on Electric Augers? I'm looking heavy at a ION

I am wishing hard for some ice! I have been using a Dewalt with the drill adapter for a couple years now and it works so well...at this point I wouldn't even consider a power auger

K-Drill and Milwaukee Fuel M18. I'll never go back. No proprietary batteries to deal with like the stand alone augers.

First day was slow. Caught one and lost two. Great way to safety the day though.

I too am champing at the bit... I'm not a "hard water" (aka ice) fisherman as I don't like stripping the ice off my fly line or out of the guides. I'm inventorying my fly fishing gear, sorting flies, tying flies, and doing everything to be ready for the warming trend that will (eventually) come.
