All this does is make me more and more to have all Federal land in Alaska, to very much include the parks given to the state and all Federal control of that land removed. We haven't been a Territory for over 60 years and we're sick of being treated as a colony for Seattle and DC to dictate what happens.

Y'all may be missing the point. Renaming is a work around to a political strangling of America's economy by "executive order". So there was an "executive order" undoing that strangle hold.

It's really that simple. By "executive order" no new drilling for oil in the "Gulf of Mexico" so rename it to "Gulf of America" and issue drilling permits.

I haven't figured out why Denali vs McKinley but it's probably energy based North Slope stuff?

It is simple and there's a simple legal work around; Gulf of Mexico AKA The Gulf of America when they sue to stop it.

It was named initially in the early 17th century when Mexico controlled much of the the south western US so I believe the renaming is meant as a reminder of who is in control now. This is a prelude to shutting down the border and dealing with the organized crime exploiting our border.

I believe the Denali (native origins) name change is a push back on the rhetoric during the past 4 years that the US is an invalid state because the land was stolen.
