CVA Optima

Mine like the 84grs by weight of blackhorn. A hornady 250gr sst bullet. I bought 6 packs of hornady 290gr bore driver bullets. To see how accurate they are. But mine shoots the 250gr sst good. Not worth trying the 290gr bore driver bullets. That is a 1 inch circle. A 3 shot group at 100 yds.

80gr weigt blackhorn 209
Hornady 250 sst with black harvester sabot

Shoots awesome. Right at one moa up to 250 yards.

I did a ladder test. Know your max load, start there and start backing off couple grains at a time until you see a node where they are hitting together.
Was that the optima v2 or the optima v2 LR

Hey guys, just wanted to drop a update. My CVA OPTIMA V2 LR, absolutely rocked this season. My load info is 79.0 grains, BH209, weighed, which is around 112-115 grains volume , and using 250 grain Barnes fb, EZ. Actual velocity is like 2050. I shot 4 beautiful whitetails, 3 monster doe, and a broken up 8 pointer, giant body. Three of them never took a step. The first one, was heart shot, did the death kick, ran thirty yards, SOOOO fast, it ran into a tree, and broke its lower jaw, leaving a pie plate size blood splat on the tree. Shots were between 75-95 yards. My gun loves this load, and is incredibly accurate. I did add the Vari-flame system, and breech plug, and am using Federal 215gmm primers.
By far, the most accurate muzzleloader I've ever owned, or shot. Hope every one either had a great season, or still are. Best of luck to all. 7STW
