97gr absolute hammer 6.5 grendel Game changer!!

Update,
Gas block fixed the issues and I'm running just a tick over 2900fps with the 97 and rl10 out of an 18" brand new barrel. So I should gain at least 50fps once broke in.
It's also very accurate. Heading to Texas next week for some more hogs and whatever else I can find.

Let me know how it does. I've been unable to spend more time with mine much less shoot anything with it.

If they are anything like the 99 which they should be the same but faster they will be great. Crazy how most people say you wouldn't want to try a audad but mine all few fast same with pigs. Enough so that my brother was shooting eld 123 and after the first few hogs and audad he said yep gotta get some of those.

Well it worked as I thought. Was able to take 26 hogs, a few audad, a sika, and a red stag with it. The red stag was a finish shot. My dad shot it first but I think the bush in front took most the damage. It was running away so a steep angle. Was the first hammer I've recovered. Broke both shoulder first one long ways and stopped half way out the hide and removed it with pliers. Looked just like you would think front gone and shank looked good.

Well it shall remain a secret.
Actually it's all timing. I've had This happen before. I've been to several ranches through the years and being a repeat customer has its perks. Heck once my dad was at a ranch that had him shoot every nilgai he could see.
Keep in mind fellas I pay for every animal I shot except the pigs. I got some price brakes but still doesn't aid for them.
If you buy one or more trophies they let you kill as many as you want. So I spent every night with thermals.

This is the one and only hammer I ever recovered from an animal.
Red stag and it took the long way through did get both front shoulders and broke both. About 130 yards shot. 97 hammer 6.5 grendel just over 2900fps

Everyone is telling me it's rl 10 spiking pressure to fast but Barnes has it for a 100gr and they are getting more speed than me so I think it's in the gas system.
I don't see it. I have the Barnes data for 6.5 Grendel on my screen and it does have it for the 120 grainers. Their data shows 2378 for the 120 grain TTSX using RL 10x, 23.8 grain max. But you're getting 600+ fps more velocity with a 97 grain Hammer absolute? I need to try that.

What is your load?
Yup RL10x seems to where it's at with the Grendel and 97 Absolutes. Got this from mine when doing a ladder. posted the info in the absolute thread. Still have room to go as no pressure sign yet.

I'm going to work on some 109 absolutes and see how they do as well.
I'll be honest, I am quite amazed at the velocity and need to try that in my Grendel. I've been using H335 as I had an 8 lb. jug and still have about 5 lbs. left, but to get 3000-3200 fps is jaw dropping. I'm pretty sure I'm only getting about 2700 with a 12" barrel. I want it to perform in a 12" barrel, it's the perfect weight, and 3000 fps would make it much more useful. I can use the H335 in 6.5cm or 308 if I need to.

EDIT: I do have a 16" barrel I can try it in, it looks like @snox801 was using a 16" barrel.

97s at 2700 in a 12" barrel seems fast. I run 97s at 2500 in a 11.5" 6.5grendel Bbl with h322 which gets more velocity than h335 with the 97s
