Just being a smart***, congrats on finding one of those sweet spots in loading.
Let me know how it does. I've been unable to spend more time with mine much less shoot anything with it.Update,
Gas block fixed the issues and I'm running just a tick over 2900fps with the 97 and rl10 out of an 18" brand new barrel. So I should gain at least 50fps once broke in.
It's also very accurate. Heading to Texas next week for some more hogs and whatever else I can find.
They say when all you have is a hammer everything looks like a nail! . He certainly saw a lot of different nails haha!Doing work with them hammers!
Doing work with them hammers!
For sure! I just wanna know what ranch he hunts to be able to whack that many animals! They say when all you have is a hammer everything looks like a nail! . He certainly saw a lot of different nails haha!
You and me both! For sure! I just wanna know what ranch he hunts to be able to whack that many animals!
I don't see it. I have the Barnes data for 6.5 Grendel on my screen and it does have it for the 120 grainers. Their data shows 2378 for the 120 grain TTSX using RL 10x, 23.8 grain max. But you're getting 600+ fps more velocity with a 97 grain Hammer absolute? I need to try that.Everyone is telling me it's rl 10 spiking pressure to fast but Barnes has it for a 100gr and they are getting more speed than me so I think it's in the gas system.
I'll be honest, I am quite amazed at the velocity and need to try that in my Grendel. I've been using H335 as I had an 8 lb. jug and still have about 5 lbs. left, but to get 3000-3200 fps is jaw dropping. I'm pretty sure I'm only getting about 2700 with a 12" barrel. I want it to perform in a 12" barrel, it's the perfect weight, and 3000 fps would make it much more useful. I can use the H335 in 6.5cm or 308 if I need to.Yup RL10x seems to where it's at with the Grendel and 97 Absolutes. Got this from mine when doing a ladder. posted the info in the absolute thread. Still have room to go as no pressure sign yet.
I'm going to work on some 109 absolutes and see how they do as well.
