Tikka T3X Action Screw Torque

What is the deal with this thing? I think Tikka says 44 in*lbs for plastic stock and plastic bottom metal. It will torque to that but the joint is really soft. Seems like either the stock or the bottom metal is giving. Removal torque feels like 20 or less.

Anybody try 35 in*lbs? …..or another lower torque?

I'd go 45 at minimum. Mountain Tactical sells bottom metals that are…metal if interested.

I just bought a 22-250 and likely will never shoot from the original stock and bottom metal as I ordered up a KRG Echo.

I have a .308 CTR that has an original metal bottom metal and I crank it down to 65 in/lbs.

High Desert Rifle Works has a bottom metal with a more traditional rounded trigger guard as well as a squared one like Mountain Tactical.
