.300 RUM or .30-.378

Do you have a LM or Std Mag bolt face? Those two cases have different head sizes.

I don't call it the 30-37Hate for no reason.
300RUM for sure if you have the std mag bolt face. If you have LM bolt face, 300NM Imp. Or 30-338LM Imp.

Have the LM bolt face but that can be changed relatively easily. I could be wrong but I'm thinking going .300NM Improved or .30-.338 LM Improved could get very costly for dies. Although they do sound like more fun.

Thinking I'm going to go with the .300 RUM. Will have to see how things pan out.
If you are looking to seat out the Long Nose Heavy Bergers, you will need a reamer with .225" to .250" freebore.

Shooting/seating the long nose heavy Berger's out, turns your gun into a single shot, unless you use a UM mag, or 4" Wyatt's set up.

It's a Salvage, that's reason enough not to use it.
Nothing wrong with Salvage…other than clunkiness, aftermarket support, and they can't make up their mind about "standard" sizes🤣

300 Rum gets my vote. I don't have either haha. But just the fact that adg and Peterson make brass for the rum is enough to be an end of discussion for me.

I know Norma, Nosler, and hornady at least all make .30-378 brass and it's not junk but it's not at all in the same league as Peterson, Lapua, ADG, or Alpha, none of which make .30-378.

If I needed a case capacity advantage over the RUM and wanted to spend the money on a .580 (I think) bolt face and big receiver and pricey brass and all that jazz I would forget the .30-378 completely and do a .30-33xc. Bigger than the .30-378. No belt or curvy shoulder (not that I have a problem with those but they're superfluous at best). Peterson brass. Probably the last word in how much power can realistically be wrung out of a .30 cal hole. If I recall right Kirby Allen aka @Fiftydriver did experiment with a .30-408 cheytac and couldn't make it do what he wanted. Barrels shorter than 30 inches need not apply.

This is my 30/378, 12,1/2 lbs.
Medium varmint contour 26"
Terminus T4 muzzle brake
Recoil is comparable to a 300Wm 150gr.
If your going to shoot something like this you want some weight or you will nickname it 30-37Hate.🤣
I might be talked into saleing it.
The target is at 300yds, 10 shots dialing in my scope, two 5 shot groups.
230gr Hybrid OTM
