Hello Everyone,
I am new to LRH so first of all, Merry Christmas!! Im hoping to get to know some folks and gain some knowledge. So I am trying to load some 6.5 prc loads. Test loads. I've been reloading for 30 years. Heavy for the past 20. Never for the 6.5 prc. I've resized my brass in my Hornady die. Done everything as usual.
When I went to seat my bullets......They fell in the brass!!!! What in the world am I missing? It's Norma brass and it does it with 130 grain Seirra Gamechangers and then I tried a 147 grain eldx with the same result!!?? I'm so confused. I load for 23 other calibers. I've never seen anything like this before? Any and all advice would be much appreciated!! Thank you!!

if you're full length sizing with a correct die, then it shouldn't fall in. i've never used any bushings with any necks, so no experience there. i have been fl sizing everything for 40 years w/o issues like that even on 24x brass. was the brass from fired cases you've shot or new brass with correct headstamp? check the diameter of the 130tgk's and the 147edl-m's just to make sure they're .264". i'll retract my statement about no bullets falling in the brass as i have learned that sierra lengths (cartridge overall lengths) can be to long and to short when using their data. were you doing a dummy round (no primer, no powder) or fell in with powder @ your fill rate?

fill in thee blanks for help

In forty plus years I've never seen anything like this, my guess is someone above has hit the nail on the head. Wrong die, bushing die with no bushing, wrong mandrel, something along those lines. New brass, if that's what you're working with shouldn't do that before you size it, so it almost has to be something with your die. I've been thinking about this cartridge quite a bit, following to see how it works out.
