Scope help

The tangent sold just before I was able to claim it. I'm just going to go with a Nightforce
Great choice.

I have a NF 2-5-10 compact, a Leupold Mark V 3.6-18 and have used Mark 5 5-25 and Revic RS 5-25i at Gunwerks courses.

ATACR has the reputation for reliability and if the price and weight is worth it to you, it is a great option. I have yet to try one.

The Mark 5's are lighter than comparable scopes, the RS 5-25 is really nice and has a very forgiving eyebox and parallax correction. I'd happily use and buy any of the three. In fact, I have been looking at adding a RS 5-25 to my Nexus 300 PRC and moving my Mark V 3-18 to my Clymer 6.5 PRC to replace the NF compact.

In my findings, the TT525P is THE top of the food chain in optics.
Just make sure it is legit for that $3200 price. They are $4800-6400 new from retailers.
I just saw the Schmidt PMii on the classifieds here and saw your comment on it. Would it be foolish to not try and scoop that up vs a Nightforce nx8?

S&B are great. Be aware of the reticle illumination knob location, it may cause mounting issues if your rifle doesn't have a full length pic rail.

No comparison for glass quality, S&B PMII hands down over the NX8. But the S&B is longer and heavier.
The H2CMR is great for subtensions, but it is fairly fine so it gets small at lower magnification. No heavy outer stadia to funnel your eyes to center. But fantastic from 7x and up.

I just ordered a s&b 5-25 from eurooptic, they had it on sale for 2700. Got the p4fl reticle. I figured I could compromise some weight savings for the quality.

Yep,
Bushnell LRHS 2
Maven RS1.2
Maven CRS3
Nightforce NXS 2.4x10
S&B T96 polar 2.5x10
Tract UHD FFP 2.5x15 hunting
Vortex Razor LHT FFP
Vortex Strike Eagle FFP

I can go on--I'm not saying I'd recommend all--but not one of these options exceeds 29 oz
They make a tract in second focal also. In case you decide on second plane.

Great choice. I've been using the same scope/reticle with excellent results for several years….Perhaps one of the most effective reticles I've used for whitetail hunting….particularly when there is very little time to confirm a range(with a rangefinder) with a spooky buck in low light conditions…..where the illuminate center/FFP shines!
Not to mention, superb glass….

I'm excited. I imagine it will be a significant step up from my leupold vx5 all around
