223 brass necked up to 6mm. Cheap
I use nickel plated brass for a easy way to distinguish between it and 223 rounds

We shoot a RRA Fred Eicher Coyote with a 20" 1:8 Suppressed shooting .223 65gr SGK. Serious Yote Killer!Hopefully this gets some traffic....
My thermal rig is a 25-06 flinging 80gr ttsx at 3650fps. It is hold on hair out to 300yds and does a fantastic job at killing things the bullet comes in contact with.
But its long and heavy and follow up shots are not as easy as just squeezing the trigger again. It's unsupressed and considerably louder than my hunting partners 16" 223rem. I don't mind the noise but I'd assume other coyotes would.
So my question is...
What are yall using as far as cartridge, bullet and barrel length in the AR15 platform for coyotes? Specs and velocity numbers are much appreciated!!!
I'm a big believer in "speed kills" especially in the sub 300yd range. Factory ammo is a plus but not a requirement as long as good brass is available. I don't want anything thats so "boutique" that I need to run a brass catcher.
I've been looking at....
204rug
20practical
223rem with a 9-10tw
224 valkyrie
22 nosler
22ARC
6ARC
25x45 Sharp's
What have yall tried and didn't like?
What is currently working for yall?

I have a Grendel bolt gun that loves the 100gr eld-vt. I'm in Texas and in no way trying to save fur.I have both a .20 practical and a 6.5 Grendel. 6.5 Grendel is great and I think 6 ARC might be even better. .20 practical is probably a great choice if you want to keep fur as the 6.5 Grendel can blow a good sized hole in them.
6 ARC!!!!Hopefully this gets some traffic....

75 Green speerWhat bullet? What speed?
What powder are you using? The 6.5 Grendel with a 100gr pill or as I shoot the 97gr absolute hammer at 3k out of an 18" barrel
Yeah, that Sierra 65gr SGK is a monster out of an AR15... at one time that's all I used for Yotes and a few Deer, it never let me down. I use it as well in my Weatherby MkV (The Varminitmaster) in .22-250 Rem as well, later in my .22-250 AI but, out of them all the .223 Rem/5.56 in an AR platform, is where it really shined pound for pound so to speak. CheersWe shoot a RRA Fred Eicher Coyote with a 20" 1:8 Suppressed shooting .223 65gr SGK. Serious Yote Killer!
That is a sweet looking setup. Cool looking upper and lower receivers.5.56/.223 in an AR platform for me.

My AR pistol is my truck gun.
11" pushing a 50gr V-Max @ 2920fps. About a 350yd max coyote round. Short, fast, quick swinging. NF NX8 1-8×24 and a Holosun 507.
My 24" AR Varminter pushes the same load 3300fps.
Currently I'm using a 6 ARC. I just grabbed some factory ammo with the 80gr ELD-VT. They are mild at 2835fps and I'm sure handloads will do way better. But the factory ammo works til I get around to building a load for the 80gr ELD-VT. My go to handload is a 105gr Berger VLD at 2635fps. The 6 ARC just hits harder than 5.56. Though for years (and a bunch of coyotes) I used a 5.56 loaded with 40gr vMax at 3350fps. It worked well inside 200 yards but lacked the energy past that to anchor coyotes reliably. Moving up to the 53gr vMax helped.Hopefully this gets some traffic....

How do you like the terminal performance of the 80gr eld-vt?Currently I'm using a 6 ARC. I just grabbed some factory ammo with the 80gr ELD-VT. Here's a dog from earlier this week that met my 6ARC
