I would like to see a Desert Big Horn hunt for $40,000 sign me up !Maybe if you could draw a tag in one of the US states,but Old Mexico try upstream of $70,000,but I agree use something in the 7mm 3000 fps range!

Ya not really sure why you would want a bullet that is so small, and going so slow. To expand even less and cause even less trauma

Seems like a splendid varmint cartridge.
.257 is my smallest, it was used for 22/250 to .270 for many years. Worked too.
Dad had all the 17 REMs, 22/250AI, Cheetah etc.

I'd go bigger. Sheep are very tough. Some drop right there but last week I saw a ram eat 5 7mm bullets. You just don't know with them. 6.5prc as a minimum if say. Good luck!

Here is a bull my wife killed last month with a 6 Creed shooting a 105 VLD. 580 yards, one shot, zero drama. Bull made it less then 10 yards.

If I ever get a chance at a Big Horn I will use my 6.5 RPM 142gr Acubond LR going 3100.
I used a 300 win mag in the Brooks for the Dall,7mm Rem for the Stone in BC!

It would be fine with the right combination and proper long range experience & ability. It's like everything else, thin skinned whitetail are hard to get if you don't hit them right, but easy to drop if you do. The Nosler BT is not my bullet of choice.
