Wilson Combat NULA rifles

I had bought a used NULA 24B in 280 Rem back when Melvin Forbes had the company.
This was after the Colt fiasco.
Fit & finish was really good.
Barrel was a 1.5 contour.
Weight savings is in the action and stock.
Stock is stiff for as light weight as it is.
Forbes full length bedded the stock to the action and barrel.
Trigger was light & "crisp".
Bare rifle was 5.5lbs.
Just under 7lbs with 4-12X40 Sightron scope and nylon sling.
We'll say that I got it for a steal.
Plan was to use it on a western hunt that never materialized.
It accounted for 6 deer here in PA.
Sold it for much more than I paid for it.
And regret it!!
I'll just add that Wilson Combat isn't known for making junk.

I'm going to find out, although my purposes are a little different. I want an all-around, big game, suppressed rifle for reasonable ranges. I'm going to purchase a .308 Winchester with a 20" barrel and install a TBAC Ultra 5 suppressor. I should end up with an overall barrel length around 26".
I am hoping to end up with a hunting rifle that isn't too heavy, not too muzzle heavy, and not too hard on my hearing in the event I am presented with a quick offhand shot.

I dont have a Forbes nor a NULA. But I do have a 16" 308 in a tikka. Maybe not as stiff or light as a NULA, but it does wear a 5" Ultra. It is quiet enough to whack jackrabbits while big game hunting and not ring ears or blow the deer out of the country. It is not quiet like a 7" or a 9", so be forewarned if you dont have the 5" already, shoot one before you buy.

I agree. I have one of their 9mm hand guns and what a dream to shoot. So accurate it makes me look like I know what I am doing.

If your wanting to get one of the new Nula, Wilson Combat/ Wilson barrels/ Cooper Rifles. Yes all these companies joined together after the Covid bs,
Because of the hard times everyone went through. Cooper still has there original shop and a shop in Alabama with Wilson Combat and they bought Nula off of Melvin Forbes before he passed away.
The shop in Alabama has gunsmiths from both Cooper and Nula.
I would bet you would receive one of the
Finest Rifle you've ever seen. IMO

Too bad if manufacture of the NULA moved out of West Virginia.

Did not know that.
Wilson Combat bought everything and moved most everything to Bama and sold the rest. Last I heard a couple gunsmith went as well. I knew Melvin for over 25yrs. And yes this state has lost half its population in the last 20yrs.
Correction they are in Arkansas.
