Which Wyatt's? 300 RUM

I have a prefit 300 RUM barrel that I'm going to put on an Origin... I have M5 bdl bottom metal but still need a mag box, spring and follower.

I've been looking at Wyatt's website but honestly it's a little confusing. I'm gathering that there are center fees and stagger feed mags (CF use the mag lips, SF uses the action feed rails)... But there seems to be some overlap between various options.

The origin is supposed to feed up to 3.85", but I'm not sure if that would still require some of the action modifications Wyatt's says are needed, if I go with a 3.85" box?

Or if I should but the bullet and just mod the action right off the bat and then get the longest box possible?

Looking for some input 🙂

Kevin Wyatt told me he likes center feed boxes for the Rum boxes. I have 4 center feed boxes in 7, 300, 338 and 375 ultramags. I have 4 center feed boxes 7 & 300 saum and 270 & 300 WSM.
I like the 4 inch boxes for the Ultramags.

I ran a 4" box for my 338Edge, worked great up to a point…
For my 300RUM, I am running a 3.850" box, no problems with it yet, if I do, I will go 4", but no bullet I use so far hasn't worked out at that length.

Cheers.

Wyatts cfe9 box with a hawkins m5 oberndorf bdl will get you 3 rounds down and get you almost 4.000 coal, however action modifications may be needed, not a lot of long actions are designed around it, few off top my head, BAT Vesper, Igniter and HR, terminus Kratos.

This! One of the reasons I went with NMI over LMI is that it does not require a 4" COAL to take advantage of the long, heavy, high BC pills.

I used the 3.85" Wyatt's with no problems. Loaded 245s and 215s. Both had to jump, but they liked it there after expirementing with single feeding with both.

I did the 3.825" Wyatt's extended box (I believe it is the MBE-03). My 300 RUM chamber is cut such that I don't need a 4.000" box length. However, if I were to do it again, I certainly would go with the CFE-09 4.000" box.
Yeah, I didn't look far enough on Wyatt's website. I had to have it cut (Rem 700) and would have done it then.
