Like a lathe? A action wrench? A reamer?
Only a gun smith comes to mind. You might find a machinist that you can ask for a "lesson" is something depending how well at making friends you are.
I've been wanting to get a lathe big enough for barrels for awhile, and have never been able to really justify the cost or space. I'm pretty sure the mini lathes that ARE affordable aren't even worth looking into the specs.
That said, it's a big tool. Idk if picking it up to take home to borrow is how that works.
If you don't need the lathe then you very well might be able to rent a reamer and action wrench from a gunsmith if they are cool. Probably wouldn't hurt to call and ask.
We have a good friend that teaches how to chamber a barrel. If you bring your barrel, Action, Reamer if Bob doesn't already have one or rent a reamer. He will do a great job in helping you out.

Yep, RemAge barrel swap is pretty straight forward. Crack off the old barrel, spin on the new, and check headspace. As long as you choose a caliber with the same bolt face, an action wrench and go/no-go gages are all you should need. While not absolutely necessary, a fixture to align the recoil lug while tightening is nice also.

Just a precaution, I know the guys are making seem super easy, but have a good vice too.
If the factory barrel, especially if on the older Remingtons have never been taken off, good chance it's on super tight AND cold welded.
Some guys get it off real easy, some guys have to fight tooth and nail to get the old barrel off. Sometimes heat works, sometimes it doesn't.
With the remage barrel you'll also need a savage barrel nut wrench and make sure you know if the barrel with that nut will fit into the stock you intend to use…

Great advice. I think alot of those videos show them "removing" the barrel after they've already had it off.

The tools you need are not very expensive. You may want to give these guys a call. I personally haven't sourced any of my build parts from them but I have a buddy who did and they are very helpful in sorting through the process of what you want.

As a side note I am in the process of rebarreling a 300WM to a 35 Whelen. Here's a
for an old school rifle.I hear you, I saw a video the other night and the guy said you can do this job in 15 minutes. I hate when they say stuff like that, not even feasible at least by me. I know it would take me a long time, I'm no machinist or pro at anything but I do take my time and very meticulous when it comes to this kind of project.

the first time you will take as long as you think it will take , the second time you ll do it in 15min too
second hand barrel wrench. vise are pretty common nowadays , alot of peple buy these with their barrel and barrel lug and never use em again
