Correct. Free floated, bedded, aftermarket trigger, trued at barrel install.Accubonds, hammers, good ole core lokt, power point and fusion all shoot well in my 270's
Assume that the new barrel is floated, the action is not binded in the stock, trigger is smooth and consistent, scope and mounts known good, etc.?
That's actually a really nice offer. I will contact you offline and we can arrange venmo for shipping and whatever a small sample is worth. You are right -- I have a decent load, decent ES etc.Beings you're not looking for heavy bullets, you may want to try some new 145 ELD-X bullets that aren't factory seconds. You already have load development completed, you should just be able to test them out to see if they shoot better. I have a dozen or so extras I could mail you to try if you don't want to buy a box before you know for certain.

We shot the rifle in howling western KS wind today -- off the hood of the pickup. Just so my buddy could shoot it. For kicks, I had some of the old Cor-Lokt Rems that shot a 4" group with the gun when new. Well the gun shot a respectable group with those factory loads, about 1 1/2 which in the howling wind with the pickup rocking was pretty good. (in the meantime, its been bedded, trigger replaced and a new barrel, but still happy)
In any case, thanks for all the advice. I shot a doe today (Kansas rifle season). It will be 15 deg in the AM, howling wind. My bed will be very appealing, but my buddy lives for this and I'll drag my sorry posterior out to go freeze it......
The 132gr HHT is another good option, similar bullet length as the 145 ELD-X.I would look to midweight monos like the 126 grain Hammer. It's built to perform in a 9 twist. I have found that the monos seem to shoot better well spun and on game performance is enhanced.
I'm heading there a week from Friday on a whitetail hunt.Frigid temps and negative wind chill define deer hunting where I'm from in North Iowa, enjoy every bit of it and send trophy pictures.
Let me know and I can send them out. Send me a PM
And don't forget the 160gr maker t-rexs!!!
