Matt sent the Hammer Bullets staff a thank you note. After 4 years chasing elk in Colorado he finally made contact with his first bull ever, using the 168 Hammer HHT and a 300 Weatherby.
Matt said, "He was quartering away at 400 yards. Bullet entered just in front of his last rib and exited his neck on the opposite side. He moved up the hill, maybe 30-50 yards before tumbling backwards. Quick, clean and ethical harvest. Very little meat damage.
As a first time reloader and first elk, I'm extremely pleased that the success that I was seeing on the range translated into success in the field. Bullet performed perfectly.
Thanks again. Keep it up!"
Congratulations Matt on your first bull elk! Good shooting and we appreciate the note and excellent field report!
