Favorite holiday traditions

It's the holiday season. Do you have any favorite holiday traditions you'd like to share with us? I'd love to get to know some of yall a bit more, so trying to encourage great conversation within the community.
First and foremost I'm thankful for a God that loves us enough to send His Son to give Himself up as a sacrifice for us all. May all the glory and honor be given to God. We are blessed to have all of mine and my wife's parents with us they from 90 to 96 years of age our families will gather around them and enjoy each other's company, eat to much and sleep well because we've had to much fun. God bless y'all I pray your holidays will be filled with love and laughter

Nothing really special, just try to get family scattered across Wyoming together ……which can be difficult, depending upon weather.
It's generally a 2-3 day event, a lot of food, some football, and once in a while, a "wee" little alcohol consumed by a couple……for medicinal purposes! 😁

Then there are a few phone calls to out of state family! memtb

It's a day of mixed emotions for me. Had some good, some not so good. My favorite were the years we'd be deer hunting with our oldest grandson. Second were the years heading to far West Texas or the Panhandle getting ready for mule deer opener. Now it's spent with the in laws. I kinda keep to myself and just talk to and thank God. He gives me Thanksgiving every day!

I moved to Dallas for work in 1983, with no family within 1,500 miles. Thanksgiving was always a trip "home" to see family. Seven years ago my Brother and his wife temporarily located to Dallas to support their child in college. They liked it here so they moved here. Now I spend holidays with either my Brother's family or travel "home". We usually cook or smoke our Turkey, etc. Today I'm making my first pie ever, a pecan pie from pick-up pecans, and home made crust.

ETA. I'm so thankful we elected Donald Trump, ending the most stupid period in our country's history. Looking forward to Elon and Vivek chopping down our bloated fed gov and returning our future taxes.

A little different here as we're privileged to get to serve others at Thanksgiving. Photos are from last year. Looking to provide meals for +2500 folks that can't afford a Thanksgiving meal, take-outs to those that can't fix for themselves anymore, those with no where to go for Thanksgiving and/or anyone hungry. Thanks to all the people who sacrifice their days to help prepare this meal and local suppliers that provide/donate food! May God receive all the glory and we have so much to be thankful for!

Happy and safe Thanksgiving to everyone here on LRH!
Good for you! Well done.
