I recently picked up a bdl in 300 rum. Really liking it but the problem I found is the nightforce setup I put on it is to high for a good check weld. Found good black Friday deal on stocks but just wanna make sure first if the 300 rum action fits a standard remington 700 long action inlet. My first rum and don't wanna scre up the order. Seemed allot on here run the rum and would have the info.

Remingon 700 stock would be a long action, after that your gonna need to try and match bottom metal and barrel channel. Standard bdl in rum would probably be a magnum sporter contour.
Ya I was looking at ag composite stocks have a good black Friday sale. They can match the bdl bottom metal. I had the same thought on the barrel but I can do some measuring to make sure they do list cad drawings of there barrel channels.

This is for your consideration since you are in the planning stages. Some of the complaints I heard about the .300 RUM are that it does not have enough COAL to take advantage of the heavy/long high BC bullets (i.e., 1.775" 245 Berger). Those who have this issue and want a longer COAL have resorted to extended magazine boxes: https://wyattsoutdoor.com/product/cfe-09-magazine-box/. It might require minor GS work. I do not know if this is one of your considerations, but I figure I'll throw it out there for you to ponder. Good luck!

Been reading about them. I will say I learned fast there is no cheating bullets out any with the factory set up.
