That's close, know anything about process ? That your rifle? Looks a lot more "finished"than pic I submitted…
No sir not my rifle.....I don't know anything about the process other than he calls it McSwirly. It costs extra and I'm a tight wad

I've known Dr Dan for many years, the finish he does is pretty much like that. He's done a lot of work for me, a better man you'll not find!
Thats exactly what I was going to suggest it looks like.

That's a rough example. It's done with an orbital sander while the lathe is spinning. The ones I've done, and the ones that I have seen use a much finer grit paper which I think looks better. Some people call it a whirly gig finish. Each to his/her own I guess.
