Looking for information and inspiration to outfit my gunroom. Needing rifle rack dimensions for rifle spacing side by side and offset from barrel rest to butt stock platform.

Any info, pictures or schematic would be appreciated

Is it solely for security, and do you have a basement! Someone I knew had a great one…..but requires a basement and quite a bit of cash! And……didn't use up any basement floor space. memtb

How did it not use floor space ...very curious.

He opened a passageway (later hidden) through the basement wall to where his front sidewalk (a wide sidewalk) "was"! From the basement to the sidewalk area was concreted. Then a new concrete sidewalk was poured over the new "gun room"!

Concrete on all sides, not seen from outside, and a hidden vault type door to access from the basement!

Space added to the basement, an extension of the basement, none removed or used of the original basement.

Not a cheap construction job…..but very effective! memtb

No but bad ***

i'd store horizontal also and keep ammo specific to the firearm under it along with compatible mag (unless it's bdl). stack 2 to 4 high. if i get to build my urr (unobtanium reloading room ;) ) i will post pics. might be late next year or mid-summer of 26. sifting thru builders that i can trust to do the job the way i want might take some time? i'm just glad it's in Texas instead of those states that would cost me 2 to 4 times as much money to build it!

if you feel comfortable with using a hook inside the trigger guard it will tip towards the back (scope side) and still hold it vertical.

Had a 12'x 12' room in my basement that was originally for a sauna. It has a 4' opening in the block so I framed it solid with 2x6's for an opening sized for a 36" commercial steel fire door. The 48" space that the door is in has 3/4 plywood over the studs then plated with 3/16" steel. I had two safes and a six space vertical rack for storing rifles while working on them. This last winter I got rid of one safe and installed a gun wall from Secureit. Very happy with the finished product. If you have the space, I'd recommend a gun wall. You have the option of vertical and horizontal.
