Worked up some 308 Win for my wife's CVA Cascade at 100 yards, three shot groups.

150 gr Hornady SST
VARGET
Federal 210 primers
Norma brass

It really liked 43.5 gr and second place is 44.9 gr (max load). I did adjust the scope down after the 44 gr shots. I am going to run with 43.5 due to how tight the group is. She will be able to take a deer no problem out to 200+ yards. I was ringing an 8 inch steel plate at 250 yards.

You ever try the Hornady ELD'S @ 140 or 143, I've shot one hole groups at 100 & here's a pic at 300 yds., with my .22-250 but shoot more of the Hornady 143 ELDs in 308 and 6.5 C and they all love them, powder is 26 and CFE in the .22-250 , had whiteness to, lol

I have not tried the ELD's or researched them for hunting. That's my primary focus. How well do they do on deer?

Recently I was revisiting a load for my 308 using a 175 gr SMK Varget. 43.5 gr of Varget didn't look like the best choice for my rifle. I still need to do some seating depth testing.
