28 Nosler , h1000 and 180 Burger hybrids

You check on your ammo availability two days before a hunt?
Me, no
My dad was mistaken and thought he had 2.5 box's when he had just under 1 box the rest were fired cases in the box's and he hadn't put them with the fired cases and put them with the loaded ones. We only found out at the range yesterday checking zeros.

I'm glad you guys have never made a dumb mistake before LOL things are hectic around here right now and we haven't been able to go to the range even though we have a 250 yd range in his back yard.

I have these and would like to hear your loads and experiences with this combo.
Right now the plan is to start at 76 and work up until I see pressure.

The gun likes gunwerks 180 Berger hybrid load

Thanks guys
I'm shooting 195 ELH Berger in my 28 I use N 570 start 80 gns and work up I'm shooting a22" hells canyon barrel at 2958 FPS fed215 primers

I'm loading with 79.5 gr of H1000 in my Christensen Arms ELR 28 Nosler with a suppressor. Using 180 gr Berger VLD Hunters, avg velocity ~3129 fps, (the suppressor seems to speed things up ~30 or 40 fps). It shoots better than anything I've been behind, and it did a great job last week.

I loaded 1x Bertram brass, 180 Berger Hybrids, CCI 250 Primers, 78.7 grains of Retumbo (no pressure in the gun I used; Christensen 22 barreled Mesa), .024 thousands off lands for 3000 fps 14SD-33ES that shot .544. I verified load data to 757 yards. My friend used it to take an elk at 897 yards and the bullet performed incredibly well.

Good luck and if you use this data as a base line, work up safely to that powder charge

I do you have 4 pounds of Retumbo
I haven't been able to find anything on burgers website for the 180 hybrid
This gun loves Gunwerks 180 hybrid load and that's normally what my dad shoots out of it. We leave on Wednesday for a hunt and he thought he had a few boxes of ammo for it but it turns out he doesn't and Gunwerks is out of it. It might need this
Luckily, I have the dies and brass to reload for it, but I only have two days to get it done LOL.

I just found Gun Work's 28 Nosler load information so at least I have a place to start starting from scratch. They use Retumbo in their load.
In my 24" Gunwerks LR-1000, 28 Nosler, the load you have listed on the data card (80.3 grains of Retumbo), is the exact load I shoot with the 180 gr. Berger Hybrid, although my velocity is a little higher than they quote. (3120's fps verified with both MagnetoSpeed and more recently Garmin.) No pressure issues, and very accurate, but pass throughs on elk sized game are a rarity.

I'm just starting my loading development process for 7mm PRC. So after Fire forming matched cases using IMR 4831 and some old Horn 154 Grn SP bullets , I loaded cases. With 60.0 Grns of H1000. And 180 Grn Hornaday ELD Match ! Starting load only 2600 gps Starting COAL is 3.320 100 yard target here shows. 2 shots left of diamond ,adjust right take one shot then adjust a second time and fired three shots . Ragged hole in center of diamond ! I will of course try longer COAL and longer CBTO lengths ,and increase powder charge ! I was please with the very first test ! Staying with H1000 and 180 Grn ELD match

I use H1000 77.5 and the Berger 180 hybrid, shoots great and supersonic past a mile. A Moose, 4 elk and 2 mule deer all one and done. Dropped within 20 yards. Don't use it for deer anymore ruined the whole front end. Dead's dead though.

I was having good grouping 1.3" at 300 setting up a new rifle, other day won't group. 78gr R26 and 168 Accubond LR at 3200 fps in a 27 1/2" Carbon six. ADG brass 2nd loading on them. Zero pressure signs. Am I pushing these too fast for that barrel? It's 1-9 twist. Was a weather change but only a few degrees. No wind. 4" poi drift and groups at 300 are now 4". All screws are where I torqued them, bore scope shows minimal wear as it's only seen 110 rounds. Scope is tracking as it should. Any suggestions? I don't have any Bergers lol

Sounds like you may have a carbon ring in you chamber I would check that out first

Carbon Ring with Zero pressure signs, just barrel break in and low round count?
Have you seen this? I have never had a problem with Carbon rings in the past 45 years so knowledge is only second hand.

Anyone have experience with Carbon6, or other carbon barrels not liking magnum charges. R26 also seems dirty. Going to have a closer look at possible Carbon ring today.
