What mag you you use in your chassis?I currently run short action cartridges in an origin long action. I shoot a 6.5 prc and 300 wm and have run a 308 in the same action with no issues. I use a bdl stock and a chassis. You should be good
I use XLR cip length mags. My chassis is an element 4.0What mag you you use in your chassis?
Your 308 in their 30-06 3.85 mag?I use XLR cip length mags. My chassis is an element 4.0
I'm not worried about weight, I'm just hoping I can build off this LA origin i already have…I'd like to use this action for a few years as a 6creed for the kids and then swap barrels to what I originally got the action for in the first place, 280AI.6 oz more weight going from short to long action, don't sweat the small stuff!
I sold my 308 barrel that I had on that rifle, and didn't have the chassis at that time. So it was fed from the bdlYour 308 in their 30-06 3.85 mag?
I already have a 6.5cm lol…just trying to build something on this long action to use for a few years, that is smaller than the 6.5. For young kids (6-9).home use/fun and for the whole family the 6.5 PRC would be the only candidate.
Knowing I want to keep the barrel short/suppressed (18"), would a 7mm-08 do better than the 25-06?How about a 25-06 with 1/7-1/8 twist, it'd be perfect. Load them light for the first few years, it'd be nearly zero recoil. Once the kids get bigger sling 130gr bullets and it'd be perfect to grow with them. A fast twist 7-mm08 would be excellent too.
