Dogs on property

We have 3 dogs. I love dogs. You just have to control them. It's the owner's fault not the dogs. We live down a rural ranch road with a river crossing. It's a common place for dirt bags to dump animals. We've even kept several over the years. If they come to the house and are friendly, they go to shelter. If they chase wildlife or livestock they go to heaven.

I can see that and would agree with you 100% if you don't care no biggie.
But what if the property owner did cared?
Would you retain your dog's
Or would you let it go until it ended up with a dead dog before you got the message that they weren't welcome??
In my experience it's usually the latter.

I have zero desire to hurt someone's dog. I asked on here for some information and I have received some ideas. Thank you, but I don't have a cat lady attitude either. If you can't see the conflict I am having and the one the dogs are causing I can't convince you. Treats and cuddles are out of the question. I may look into a taser and or bear spray.

You know what aim tired. I've been awake since 1 o'clock.
You want my opinion most dog owners should be shot and the dogs let go of a less intelligent life form. And everyone would be better off.

Damm dog chased me into my garage before I turned and shoved the pistol in his face . The responding officer found the dog as it charged his car and was able to get it secured . He asked why I didn't shoot it . I answered with you'd have charged me with it and he said yep then there's animal control and they get you for more crap
The cop really said he would have charged you if you shot a dog attacking you? That's craziness and would definitely be worth a fight in court. I have no issues shooting dogs, or anything else for that matter, that means to do me harm or anyone else, especially my girls. I like dogs but I don't trust other people's dogs until I can get to know them. Dogs on the street running around always get my hackles up and I don't ever let my daughters go anywhere near them, if they get too close and show teeth they will be shot.

I'm kinda in the middle. I had a cat killed in the country when I was a kid. And I've been attacked by dogs too. I love both cats and dogs, all pets really. So I'd rather not see them killed. But sometimes you have to.
Agreed.
I'll use judgment in each situation when handling a rogue dog . Some may be hungry, injured or scared.
Others … just plain rotten like other species.

What's your address? I've taken care of 17 cats of the neighbors the past year. The ones still breathing, I could send to you.

Discharging a firearm in city limits. Is what he said . Sounds crazy shoot the pit bull chasing you into your garage and get charged.

Use good judgement. I'd start with talking to owner of the dog, that should resolve the issue. If that doesn't fix the issue…. Then I'd get the dog if I could get my hands on him and take it to the animal shelter…owner can then go pay $65 in our county and get their dog back or it'll be put up for adoption if the owner refuses to get it out. I hate to just shoot someone's pet…. Now, if it's a stray that's been dumped out which happens often because of crappy humans, you might be doing the dog a favor.
