Convince me…

..no reason to stray from the time tested and hunter approved ole' reliable.. .300 win mag. No animals vitals will ever notice the slight difference in velocity but you'll have better everything by just staying home...
300 win is good but you need a faster twist barrel and it needs to be throated for the higher bc bullets.
Anything over 215gr the pants start to fall off

I'll provide a little extra info, i have a CA Traverse in 300 PRC that im wanting to do this with. So the easiest option would be a barrel swap. Also, with my Traverse, i believe i have a combo of not the best barrel and crap brass. I see many of other's achieveing much higher velocities using the same powder and bullets i usually use, hence the barrel swap option. Right now, i forget my charge, but im using H1000 with a 230 A-Tip and im only getting 2600 or 2680. I cant remember the exact, but i know im not getting 2700. Its to hot at 2700.
Lapua 300PRC brass
CCI250
N570
230 Hyb
2995fps from 26" 1:9"
Got 3026 & 3042 on the next couple charge weights but started to open up.

You obviously have zero experience running 230's in a 10" twist 300WM…No pants falling off with 32"-34" barrels.
Even works in 26" barrels without drama.

Cheers.

300 rum would have almost the same case capacity of a 30-338 Lapua. You could do the improved version for even more capacity. I've had great luck with the BAT M for this sort of single shot project. It will fit in a McMillan A5 style stock with magnum fill. I think there's an xl version nowadays to balance your 32" barrel. Good luck, if you have got the extra time to put in its gonna be a cool project in your end..

Someone convince me to build a 300 RUM. Im also kinda thinking about a 300 RUM AI and even +P'ing it. Literally balls to the wall 30 cal. Im thinking i would prefer to run bullets between a 174 ELD-VT and a 230 A-Tip. Sierra bullets will be in the mix as well.

You dont need to provide me with your load if you dont want, but i would like to know some of your guy's build specs and what kind of velocities you are getting. Pictures are a bonus!
300 RUM is my new ELR
Been shooting it since 2005 but it was put in the back of the safe when I moved to 338 RUM and 338 Lap
Fast forward to a year ago and I discovered Peterson was making brass for it and I decided to spin up a fresh build

28" proof SS Heavy Senduro on a reliable repeatable Savage SS 110 that is as smooth as a rusty gate ( I'm using Tikka for most other builds ) MDT ACC Chassis and Skypod and First trip to the 900 was a happy day and never looked back

225 ELDM @ 3290 no pressure issues 92.1 N570 and last group of the day was 2.7 inches at 900 and it continues to perform
That is a 13% improvement over the 338's running 300 grain at a max of 2850 from 30" Obermeyer Bbls

I'm a firearms instructor and have many options short of the next step to 375 or 416
This is the ticket

I have recently been hired to load and train for the 14.5 JDJ 1173 grain .585 at 2700 for the 2 mile range

Lora of great stuff !!!

I'll post a couple pics separately
