First Elk using Hammer Bullets

I loaded 199 HH in my son's 30 Nos and it loved them. It shot 215 bergers very well also, but I just thought I'd try the hammers. Loaded 10 rounds with H1000 with 2 rounds each at 1/2 grain intervals. Speeds ranged from 3139 to 3287 fps and the last 7 rounds went into a .625" group! When I switched from Nosler brass to ADG, had to drop down a full grain. My son has taken several animals with them, including a nice eland.
That's awesome!! I plan on using ADG Brass as well! I'd LOVE to hunt Africa someday.. But it's really expensive.. LOL

Does anyone know if the 300 Weatherby ammo loaded with the 195 grain Hammer Hunter is stable with a 1:10 twist? Thanks!

I looked that up and saw that. But I also saw it's actually 193 grains. Hammer does stuff like that and for all I know the 195 Weatherby actually weighs 196. 3 grains and geometry of bullet can definitely make it not shoot in a 1:10. I'll call Wby on Monday. Thanks.

Would be interesting to hear that they design, order and load a custom bullet that doesn't even stabilize in their rifles, and then put it in ammo that costs 3 digits. But anything is possible.

I have some at my local SG store for a discounted price is the only reason I'm even questioning it. Gotta be fine for 1:10. At $84.99/box that's a heck of a deal! I'm gonna buy a few boxes. Thanks guys.
