Is there such a thing? I carry and hunt with an 8.5 x42 Swaro EL. But I would like to get a 15 X companion. I don't have Swaro budget for this purchase and I will be using in a primarily eastern application. Looking at opposing ridges, field edges and powerlines. Also just observing nature from some of the mountain peaks where I live, in the southern Appalachian's on the edge of the Smokies. Is there a $1000 option that will provide decent glass?

Will carry this Bino West every other year for a four or five day hunt.

I may just wait to another year or so to buy alpha, but if I can get some thing decent for this fall and that $1000 range I'd go ahead and do it.

With my track record on optics, I would opt to save my money and buy the best once. With that said, there are some good suggestions above, but if you are asking for my experience, I would save and buy the best. I have wasted so much money on inferior scopes and binos over the years. Now I am all NF scopes and Swaro binos.

How would those compare to these from Tract Optics?

These are about $240 higher just for reference.
The much cheaper Burris have less noticeable CA than the Tracts.

I have a set of Vortex Kiabab 18x and they are the perfect companion to my EL range 10x
Had a Kaibab 18x56 couldn't deal with the six revolution focus knob so sent it down the road. Optics were pretty decent for Chinese.

Look for a used Meopta B1 Plus 15x56 in the $900 -$1000 price point of you have that kind of budget buy the best glass that you can afford.
