I can recommend the K4, just wrapped up 10 days in the Frank with it on my pack. I also have the K3 on my older pack (now my sons) and the K4 is better in that the upper strap/buckle is independent of the pack strap…meaning you are not tightening the rifle down when you are synching up the pack. My shoulders suck, but I can still manage to reach back, disconnect and retrieve the rifle while wearing the pack. It is pretty **** slick.

The rifle holder is a nice feature , But I like that sako and Leopold a lot better
Is that a K4 EXO pack it's on? If so which one? I've got 2 Outdoormans packs and am thinking about switching.
Ok thanks everyone so my carrier is a K3. I also brought the Kifaru Gun Bearer on that trip. The carrier was for hiking in the day before opener. Switched to gun bearer when hunting. Are you comparing gun bearer to K3 or to K4?

Here's what I did.
First, I'm 74 years old. I don't backpack in 3 to 5 miles to hunt OR camp over night!
This is just "comfort" stuff I carry to my blind.
I also realize the AR I'm using isn't everybody's "cup o' tea" or even legal in some places, but it's what I use.
It's almost too heavy for my old crippled up butt, but it frees up both hands for hiking staffs, since my balance and agility ain't what they usta be! LOL!

Most All, the other Carriers, are Fine for, Hiking / Packing, "back In",. BUT for actual, Hunting / Stalking Game We like, Kifaru's Gun Bearer W/ Rifle strapped to the SIDE of, our, EXO Packs, as We can quickly remove our Rifle's, sit and use, our wooden Stix, with, the Pack on Thigh and Make, the shot QUICKLY to, 450 yds, sitting ! ( about, 200 yds, Kneeling )
I've shot, One Elk from sitting position, on a side-hill and another, Kneeling shooting over, Sage Brush with, wooden Stix..
IF , you NEED "Speed" when, Hunting, Wooden STIX, and the Kifaru Gun Bearer,.. WORK !

Kuiu has a really nice one very similar
I have the KUIU and used it once. Couldn't get it in the holder while pack was on without help. The kifaru gunbearer is super quick and easy. Best money spent.

The stone glacier is similar in function and form as well it looks like
I'd like to find one of the older XL version myself. Don't care for the new design as much

That is on a K4 7200. Have my sons on the K3 frame. Both are excellent, very happy with the improvements with the K4 but I would be more than happy using the K3 to haul anything out.
