Favorite projectiles and powders for 308 win?

Varget- Lapua- Berger are the standard go-tos. Almost anything 168 gr will shoot. CFE223 works very well in 308 and it's a bit cheaper and plentiful. Some of my favorite loads use CFE223. I don't care for H4895, never worked for me.
I save ALL the 308 brass I see, but only actually shoot Lapua. I had decent luck with Federal and Winchester brass. Lake City is really nice in some of the older lots, but Lapua is unmatched IMHO.

Been reloading a bunch for my 308. It really does shoot everything, particularly 168 ELDMs and IMR 3031. Curious to hear what everyone else loves as far as projectiles, powders, and loads for smacking steel or hunting.
I don't have a 308 but as far as 30 cal pills are concerned I love barnes 168 ttsx my 300 rum gac get them screaming with a hearty amount of rl 22.

LOL!!!
As you stated in your post...You just opened a big window for tons of suggestions as the 308 is super versatile in many configurations and loads for different applications!
Get ready to read lots of good information!!
This!

As with anything else, YMMV.

I bought 200 rounds of Petersen SRP 308 factory loaded with 168 RDF that shoot 1/2" 10 round group. My most accurate load is 43.2 grs IMR 4895, 168 TMK Lapua or sorted Winchester brass. I like Petersen brass as well which is one reason I bought their loaded ammo which was $30.00 a box at Graf's and had good brass afterward.

Any thing with Varget

I have only used Varget since getting my GAP custom Surgeon years ago. Not heard anything compelling to experiment with others. I do not hunt with it so my bullet experiments reflect that. Also when it was built 175 was as heavy as you commonly saw so it was built with intent to shoot 175 SMK. Many bullets shoot great it this gun. I believe if your gun won't shoot GMM 168 well it wont shoot anything well. Having said all that my go to for may years is the Berger 175 hunting VLD. When I first started shooting it there was no target and hunting bullets at Berger, but over time this bullet became called hunting. I load long, but to mag length. Never checked jump but with VLD profile I bet pretty long. I have experimented with 208's but not had very good results. I have chosen to shoot more and experiment less, too many bullets out there to try.
