No need to time travel... just ask me!... or I'm guessing a long list of the folks on this thread as well.

Just a suggestion. If you truly want to be relieved of this burden and help others you may consider donations to groups that support and help ill children or wounded veterans with a gift of a rifle to go along with the donated hunts. Or put them up for raffle prizes or auctions with the information regarding where the money is going, homeless shelters, battered women, under privileged children, veterans, If you do this I and many others will bid and purchase a chance to win a great rifle, knowing that the proceeds are going for a great cause. There are people in medical need and all kinds of disparate need that could be impacted by this. Just a suggestion. I wish you success in your journey.

This is a great discussion. I know I am reflecting on what people are saying. Like several said, it's okay to own guns, shoot and hunt. The outdoors are a great place to get closer to God. When those become idols and obsessions, God becomes second place. I, for one, will keep myself in better check going forward. Starting with not snapping up a firearm or two.

I feel same way!

Should we all become minimalist? How deeply to interpret the word? How to avoid any human urge to infringe into any of the deadly sins? Is the only answer to become as Jesus himself? If God has brought abundance to your life, shouldn't you embrace and enjoy it? If there is so great of an abundance shouldn't you share it? These questions can only be answered us individually. At the end of the day/life you will get the answers. There is no gaming the system because there is no system, only gods law.

I feel the same, I spent hours talking to god when I'm in the woods, I also have fellowship at the bench with others and hunter safety teaching,
I have only felt guilty for not using my guns and hunting more often,I guess if I didn't share fellowship over my guns maybe I'd feel differently.
I'm always helping people in many ways and praying for people, I'm never to busy to help.I given my children and grandchildren many guns so they didn't have to take money from their family because I can afford it as I have been blessed in so many ways.I've never had the discussion with god about my guns. I'm feeling that my gift of helping and being a giver has been okay with with god.

Tim, I dont know you but you have really hit home with me on this post, I'm currently in Alaska and just flew in from a 16 day moose hunt, not successful on the Moose but I did get nice black bear and a black wolf. I'm from Georgia btw, when I was a kid, I wasn't allowed to have guns, and then once I could the ones I did have weren't reliable at all, and once I got 18 I bought as many as I could "and still do which is how I come across this post" and I even went as far a building a custom rifle shop! Flat Creek Precision, I absolutely love building rifles/buying rifles, I'm still in the midst of trying to find the answer of what and how to make it all work out, but I'm here in Alaska 3k miles from my buisness and Family, and my wife's attended revival all week while I've been "trying to hear from god" or even if Trees/Guns/Guiding are what I'm supposed to even do, I wanted to be a Tree Surgeon, done that, then a custom rifle builder done that, now a Alaskan hunting guide, doing that, seems I'm never satisfied, But honestly I just wana go to heaven ( I don't want to die anytime soon). not thinking about the situation, the possession or addiction I want to focus on the destination HEAVEN.
