I dont agree with the need for a 14 /15 pound Rifle set up , I have had several in the 10 pound range and they were Amazing !
Oh I'm not a SMK Lover either , the Bergers have filled my freezers just fine!

As I get older, I appreciate lighter rigs. Bergers remain my go-to bullets, but I will try Chinchaga's 350-grainer in my .338 Thor, just because. 🤣

(250 and 300 Bergers next to 350 Chinchaga).

Thats good, but realize also that there were lots of animals being killed at long range long before Berger was making bullets to do it with.

I will be honest. I don't like to use target bullets to shoot game. I use 70 grain VLD's in my 22-250 on coyotes but I won't use them on anything else. I have used Barnes bullets for over 25 years and have nothing but good things to say about them. They have performed for me exactly as they are designed to do. Deep penetration with pass through happening in most cases.
The 285 grain LRX that I use in my 338 Edge will shoot less than half and most days (if I do my part) shoots .375 or less for five shots at a hundred. When we have the chance to shoot at distance, first shot hits are usually very predictable. I have grown to really love shooting my Edge. It does what I had it built for.
