I don't use the 190VLDs but I'm getting about that speed with a 212 gr ELD with 77 something grains of h1000 and a 26 inch barrel.
That's not a bad thing though. Not every accuracy node needs to exceed max load and be max velocity.

I've had excellent results in two Rem 700 300WM's using IMR7977 powder which is not available any longer with the Berger 190 VLDH bullet. I get impressive accuracy and 3,100 fps from one gun (26" bbl) and 3,050 fps from the other (24" bbl).
I will likely switch to H1000 when I run out of the 7977, or possibly Grand powder.
I've used H1000 with other bullets in the 300 WM but not the Berger 190 VLDH.

Thanks guys. I was just wondering if I was leaving too much velocity on the table. I have shot this load, out of this rifle, past 1k and it is really, really good. I think I will just be happy with it and the extra life my barrel will get from it.
I had an accuracy load using H1000 with the Berger 190's very close to yours(2875) in my 24" Remington 700 Milspec.

I don't think any animal can survive a hit at 2850fps from a 190 gr bullet...hunt away !

There is only 0.2MIL more of a wind hold where you're at vs. trying to get another 150 fps out of it. That's about a 1 mph difference in wind. It's hard to call the wind that well.
