200gr plus 300 Win Mag loads

I quickly worked up a load for an elk hunt with the 210 gr ABLR and IMR4350 (in retrospect I think H1000 would have worked out a little better). I don't recall the details, but it ran about 2950 out of my Fierce. It worked well for a one shot kill at 529, requiring a 9 yard "tracking" job.

I am shooting 208gr Berger LRHT and 208gr ELDM out of a Sako S20.

The rifle will shot 1/2" or better with either round over a slow charge of 7828. 2710fps roughly.

I can push them faster and they are still pretty accurate, but the slow load is so accurate, I might as well save the barrel and just dial a little more elevation.

I use 210g ABLR these days, moved away from Berger when availability ceased here, however I ran the 210g VLD for over 10 years, then went 215g Hybrid up until the ABLR was released.
Loads with H1000 run 78g with 210 VLD, 77g with 215g Hybrid and 76g with 210g ABLR. Also used RE25, but seeing this is hard to come by, I'll negate what charges I used, but 79-81g is in the ballpark.

ABLR has given me the best terminal performance so far, the 200g Accubond is a close second and one really tough bullet I wouldn't hesitate using them on virtually anything that walks, even buffalo…

Cheers.

200g ELD-X, H-1000, Lapua brass, CCI 250's on a factory CA Ridgeline. Running 2850 getting .8 to .5 MOA depending on the loose screw behind the rifle. Should speed up still and will tinker with it after all 200 pieces of brass are once fired. Might play with other bullets then too, to early to decide that.

It's also getting a new stock from Manners in 4-6 months.

Took my bull elk with it last year at 480 yards with a less than stellar rest…
