Once fired brass has flat lines/spots running the length of the brass.. Any ideas what this is? Unfinished chamber from the factory maybe? It's my friend gun and shoots decent but **** the brass looks horrible and is very difficult to resize.
That's what I was thinking? I know ruger hammer forges barrels but the chamber as well?? As bad as it looks. Can't believe it shoots as well as it does!Looks like a Friday afternoon chamber job to me… have a local smith polish it or I'd send back to Ruger.
I know others with Gen 2's this one is unusual..Surprising as all reviews on Gen 2 have been positive. I was waiting for one in a 7-08. Please keep me posted on solution. Thanks
It's not the magazine.. The lines cover the entire case. The pictures are of both sides. Are all the rounds fed from the magazine?
If so, my guess is that the lips on the mag are sharp and marking the brass as it is stripped from the mag.
A light touch up with Emory cloth should fix it.
