Sam (roadrunner1) and I agreed on a price for his scope and since his only payment method was Paypal (unsecured F&F) I requested if a Money Order was okay. He agreed. This was on the 8th. We had further discussions regarding anything else I could purchase which was not needed so I declined. Total for a Vortex Diamondback HP 4-16 BDC was to be $190 shipped. With my work schedule being 6 to 6, it can be difficult to get to a post office and he asked if payment was sent on Friday 8/16. I gave my word it would go out the next morning and I apologized for the delay.

As my 48+ feedback shows, I pride myself on shipping things out and making payment as fast as possible. Many buyers and sellers do not even leave feedback so this number is likely triple. It is worth noting that at this point I have purchased other items this week as well, all of which were paid by Money Order. Once it's in the mail, it's a waiting game and I leave the seller to ship at their convenience so it's not out of the ordinary for me to not keep checking back asking about tracking. Fast forward to today and seller tells me since he didn't get payment, he sold the scope to someone else yesterday. No follow up, no update, no "hey still no payment showed up and I have another buyer", no nothing. At the LEAST, we could've figured out status and I could've made arrangements for other payment. After finally speaking with him on the phone he claims the scope was already shipped and there was nothing I could do. With the numerous scams being ran here, it makes me wonder....

Anyone who has had dealings with me here, either in person or online will confirm I am a very nice and very understanding individual but on principle this kinda crap just irritates me to my core.

We shall see if he's a scammer or just new to handshake kind of deals if the money order arrives back at my house.

Edit for spelling.

I can see both sides of this.

I would not have waited 8 days as the seller to ask if the payment was sent. On day 2, I would ask, and if not, release it up for someone else.

I also would not have waited 8 days as the buyer to ask the seller if they received my payment. I would have been asking on day 3 or 4, maintaining communication.

Bottom line, last contact from seller was that buyer had sent payment. Idk about how other people work but if I am waiting on a check, I either wait or contact the seller if I feel more days have passed than normal, not just find someone else to sell it to. He even marked his post as SPF. I've had buyers take 2 or even 3 weeks to mail a check. Never once have I EVER considered selling anything out from under them and if I thought it was to that point, my intentions would've been made clear via PM or I would've informed them payment hadn't arrived and they should seek a refund from whatever method used.

Guess I'm the minority when It comes to honoring deals I make.

I have honored every deal I have made. But, I am overly communicative.

I have had delays in both shipping company deliveries and payments received. Communication goes a long way to both parties being satisfied. I think both parties dropped the ball on communication (probably more on the buyer side actually), and this could have been avoided.

Seller was more than patient for 8 days for funds to be sent after deal was made.
Buyer should have been in contact prior to 8 days after the deal was made.

Once funds were sent, buyer should have sent notification to seller. Including tracking information.
Seller should have been in contact with buyer sooner than 9 days of not receiving payment.
Buyer should have contacted seller to check on receipt of funds or lack thereof way before 9 days had passed.

When seller opted to sell to another party, he should have contacted the buyer beforehand to check on status.

18 days have passed since the original deal was made. The seller has more patience than I would have. I have had guys flake on sending payments expecting just because they were the first "I'll take it" that it is a done deal. That is why I do a "Pay up or shut up" now. First funds get the item.
And if I am the buyer, I am quick to get payment out. If I can't get payment out quick, I let the item go.

I always try to over communicate with the buyers or sellers . If I'm the buyer I will send pictures of the money order, check along with the priority tracking. As a seller I've taken pictures and detailed how I've packed the items . I've sold two guns here to different directions on the map . I sent all the information to the buyers only to have the ffl shipper make me look bad as they sat on my shipping . Some things are outside your control but communication is key . I checked with the ffl and was in contact with the buyer . It took more than a week or two to get there and then he had to wait for another week for his ffl to open and receive. They were only open for a few days a week . Communication is key

If you are in need a a decent scope, I have a new in the box Vortex, believe it is 4x12. PM me and I will give you a deal on it.
Thank you for the offer sir, unfortunately 12x isn't quite enough for my purposes.

By the way, my father is loving that A400 we bought from you, he's breaking 65+ (pretty good for his eyes) on the local clays ranges and mid twenties on trap range!
