sendero light proof barrel issues

I recently had a very reputable gunsmith tell me that the Proof sendero light contour barrels have issues with accuracy and also that they were difficult to chamber well. I am wondering if anyone using this contour has had issues with them or if you have had success with the sendero light contour I would appreciate hearing about it.

Thanks

I have a Proof sendero light barrel on my 7mm Rem Mag, it shoots great!
Half moa 3 shot groups are the norm, have shot some amazing 1/4 moa groups also.
Smith didn't say anything negative when he built the rifle for me but that was 8 years ago.
Maybe something has changed since then?

I don't know about that?

LRI built .300 Win Mag. Mantha reamer. 26" 1-9 Proof Sendero lite contour.

100 and 300 yard groups with 215gr Berger's on top of H-1000. Nothing has stayed on its feet after taking a hit and we shoot them a looooong ways out.

I have a sendero light last time I shot three groups at 300 yd. One was 11/16 1 and 3/8 and 15/16 with a 132 grain running 3620 ft per second. Then just a week or so ago I decided to do a cold board test at 300 yd and then a follow-up it was 1 in for the two shots. I don't see a thing wrong with sendero light.

I've had 3 Sendero lite barrels and two shot 0.25 MOA once tuned, but I'm struggling with this last one chambered in 280ai. It's a 0.75 MOA barrel but I can't seem to get it to shoot any better (tried 180 hybrids, 175 elite hunters and 160 accubonds) with RL23 and H1000.

A local smith (older retired machinist, does things the old school way) told me his only complaint with them vs a normal steel barrel is that they grow length wise if they warm up, so when he's running one on a live center to turn the tenon and thread he has to go extra slow or it will bind and no longer be true on his lathe. I've never had a problem though and love the barrels.

I've got a 30 Nosler sendero light…when it's as hot as it is in TX right now, you can only shoot twice without it walking a bit. During the winter that's not an issue.

It machined no different, but it's the only light profile I've done. Most folks want the full sendero profile. But I don't run them between centers either.

My experience with nearly 50 proofs has be extremely positive. Probably 1/2 of which were sendero lites. All but one have been super accurate. The one that didn't shoot was a 20" sendero lite chambered in 6.5 saum. It was a turd and shoot nothing that resembled a group. My experience, like shooter264, with Proof Research was awesome. They made it right and warrantied the barrel no problem. All this said I do know of several builders who have moved away from their barrels for reasons that may have been frustrating for their businesses.
