CE solids are .4455 (.458 on the cannelure) and Barnes are .458What are the pre-fired diameters of the CE solid rounds and the Barnes rounds?

How is the cannelure diameter larger on the CE solids then the largest diameter of the bullet? Photo?CE solids are .4455 (.458 on the cannelure) and Barnes are .458
Now THIS makes sense…What bullet was fired? It looks as if the brass was crimped deeply into a cannelure and then dragged out as the bullet left the case.
Sorry, I misspoke calling the bands a cannelure. These are banded solids. How is the cannelure diameter larger on the CE solids then the largest diameter of the bullet? Photo?
Maybe over-crimped on the band? Now THIS makes sense…
You may be on to something, have you tried not crimping or less crimping to see if you get the same brass elongation? If not, I would experiment with no crimp and lighter crimp.Maybe over-crimped on the band?
Why was it crimped? Factory load?500 grn CE Solid so it was crimped over the cannelure
