Three "Backus" generations backpacking in Wyoming's Wind River Range - July 2024

Len - super pics/report. Could you by chance add a map showing your route. Have always heard so much about this area and had a friend from there.

AWESOME! And perfect timing. Leaving Thursday for the WRR. Dropping my grandson and his backpacking bud off at Sinks Canyon to hike the CDT. I Will be fishing, then resupply them at Boulder Lake. Finally pick them up at Green River Lakes. Supposed to be 8 days and 113 miles.
I'm tired just writing this! Sadly I'm starting out with a cold my little lady shared with me…BOO!
I'm only 77. You shame me for not backpacking! LOL! Keep it up!

My daughter and I hosted her son on a mountain trout fishing trip.

He caught over 75 brookies out of 7 different water sources.

He was in heaven ... and so was I!

Five days, about 30 miles.

Loop route from Big Sandy TH, Dads Lake, Marm's Lake, Shadow Lake, Billys Lake, Alaska Lake, Texas Pass (11,400 ?) feet, Lonesome Lake in Cirque of the Towers, North Popo Agie River east for a few miles and then doubled back, over Jackass Pass to Big Sandy Lake, Big Sandy River, and finish at Big Sandy Trailhead.

I have backpacked WRR about 5 times. Each mile hiked there on average is tougher than the Grand Tetons as a reference. Love it!

Sometimes I was able to keep up with them.

Barbara had just successfully completed a Half Ironman competition one week earlier. 1.2 mile swim. 50 mile bike. 13 mile run.

Ollie is a 15 year old all-year- round athlete.

I am an almost 79 year old --- ?
