Hello,
My QuikLoad Cd simply does not work anymore, which is quite frustrating.
I am building my third rifle built on a design I created utilizing RWS 9.3x64 brass with PT&G's help back in 2000.
This version with its 1-10 twist, 84.4 water capacity and 28 inch barrel will be using the Hornady 212 grain ELDX bullet. Velocities will be similar or superior to .300 Winchester magnum even though my extremely strong RWS brass is smaller and the Savage rifle holds four in the magazine.
I get to test this rifle while at Whittington at the end of the month, and sure could use actual data as opposed to guesswork with this heavy, 3o caliber bullet. Even the Hornady ballistics calculator does not list this bullet and it would be nice to have reliable data to start with.

I would appreciate any and all help in this matter.

Thanks, in advance

i've only had to download and not use it to run program after that. the "key" should still work and possibly download or send a link to your email? call and ask as they would know more

What exactly do you need?
Powder recommendations?
COAL?

Send me exact info on your brass / bullets/ powder, coal/ primer/ temperature/ and I will help best I can.

all of the decades of going to Raton i've never seen the range or a sign. we raced horses there since the 70's, but my last time thru there was in '87

Hello and thanks for your offers to help. I shall still follow your advice and try to get this cd download working.

My data:
brass-RWS-48.4 gr capacity of H20
bullet-Hornady ELDX .30-212 grains
powders: 4831sc, RE 22-23, Vit. 165, Retumbo
COAL-3.32
primer-Winchester LR
temps-70-80
altitude 6,500 ft.
barrel-28 inch Shilen 1-10 twist

After using 165's for years in a series of rifles checking the wind drift of these heavier .30 caliber bullets to 1,200 yards really opened my eyes!

You can try ripping an .iso image of the CD and mounting it as a virtual drive on your machine. I didn't do that with QL but have had to do it with many older programs because none of my computers have a CD drive built in anymore, and I don't want to run a USB drive full time. There's multiple freeware options for the ripping process.

Following instructions I managed to get the icon to show and then activated it. I found that it would not calculate, which was very frustrating.
Some of you people are very advanced with computers compared to me.

In the main screen, upper left hand corner - Open the "File" drop down menu. First option is "Calculate Interior Ballistics" - when you click that it doesn't do anything?

maybe a screen shot or 2 of what you do see as that would help me to further your progress.

Thanks for the info.
Can you also tell me the length of your case and the length of your bullets?
Can you also verify the water capacity and one section you say 84 grains? In here you mentioned 48 grains.

My apologies to the person who most wants to help me.
Water capacity is 84.8 grains
Case length 2.50
Hornady ELDX 212 gr. bullet is 1.57 long' BC-G7 is .335
Due to its case diameter which exceeds a .284; think of this as a .284 , 2.50 long, with a rebated rim that fits an '06 boltface
