I don't know how much you turkey hunt, but I hunt them ALOT. If this may be one of the few you harvest will not be a big deal. I write up the hunt and info like the score and mount it behind or under the mount base so I can always lift and read and remember the hunt. Without that, I would have no reference of the hunt, location or the year and to me, the reason for the mount is for the memories as few other people have much interest in our mounts.

Very nice bird. Congrats.

I've been turkey hunting about 12yrs, this one is the 9th bird I've taken and the highest scoring to date. I do plan to put all the info on the underside of the base.
The hunt was probably more memorable than the bird itself. It was def the shortest hunt I've had to date.
I sat approximately 5min after reaching my spot. Heard a distant gobble, called, and this guy appeared out of thin air in within 1 minute. Never gobble, just came in full strut…shot was 36yds.

Very nice. One of my birds this year was similar. Got into position and called once, bird gobbled, I did fighting spur call and before I could put my slate down he was on ridge running in for a fight. I had not even settled down on my seat pad yet, as was warm and took a swig of water and was still on one knee. Call was more of a locator.

Me too. I don't care to talk to people about my mounts or animals I hunt. I don't care if nobody ever sees them. They are for me.

I remember where I was, what gun I used, and what year it was.

They are 3D photos of that experience. In the extremely unlikely event that I die of old age, they will be one of my last memories to fade before I die.

Thanks everyone. I appreciate all the positive comments and enjoy seeing your photos and reading your stories as well!
I whiffed on a really good bird this year, he was likely equal to or maybe alittle larger than this mount.
1st time I've ever had one get away. It happens for sure and I def lost some sleep over it. Maybe next spring.
