I asked a friend of mine to build me a quality shooting bench and this is what he delivered. Incredibly functional and a beautiful piece of craftsmanship. 1-1/4" red oak top. All legs adjustable for height along with the seat. More can be built if anyone is interested.

That coffee table idea just might work. Where I see the trouble coming is when I throw the window open and torch that magnum off. She is awfully forgiving but that might be pushing it.
Very nice shooting bench your buddy definitely takes pride in his work.
