Has anyone here shot 100 grain or lighter in the .270? I'm thinking about using it for younger family for teaching, and possibly varmints.

Oh I scored a 116 long action Savage .270 for $125 and it shoots pretty well kid said it had less than a box of shells through it, the bore looks like it

A 7.7 jap bolt action for 75 dollars mounted my scope for free. In 1977. Killed a dump truck load of white tails.. Newlywed, got a flogging for it, too. No complaints about freezers full of meat for 10 years or so. It shot very well.

Node, not nose

I start long on coal, that way I know which way to go. If you are using digital scales verify accuracy. If problems continue, I would suspect a short throat. A nose is much better than max speed. Be safe.

If I were looking, that would be my choice.

No it was new. I traded a nice model 70 for it. It Was in the legs It belonged to the owner he shot it enough to get it on paper.

My EDC is a mod 2 Springfield. It conceals easily. Double stack. Shoots well.

It was brand new. I traded it for a bolt action 270 savage. I still own the savage.

I traded a bolt action .308 for a 06 742 with the pretty wood upgrades. It would not hit a 5 gallon bucket at 200, boy was I upset... So inherently junk applied.

Actually Hi Point is a tough ugly app. Like the ak47. It will go bang. I dont own on, but if I was in the swamp every day, I would keep on in the boat.
