    Just wondering why you wished the 30-338WM didnt have a belt. I am seeing this more and more every day progressively getting more every time a new cartridge hits the market. Just intrigued as I have never seen it as a problem.

    Those case belts are an old artifact from the H&H days 100+ years ago.

    Not needed for proper head spacing just like the move away from rimmed cartridges.

    Probably the best 30-338 type would be the .308 Norma w/o the belt & with a steeper shoulder angle
