Thanks, Did these myself, plate to seal off the hole was cut from 1/16” stiff carbon fiber sheet from Amazon. A 2 part epoxy and screws secured it to the stock then body worked, textured and painted.

Convert his stock to ADL, really isn’t all that complicated. Both of these stocks started life with BDL bottom metal, one HS Precision and the other a Christensen.

There’s not much if any load on the screw. The breech plug as in any muzzle loader contains the pressure. Whether it’s a 45, 50 or 54 there isn’t any difference in the early 700MLs other than the size of the bore. Any of them would be a suitable for a smokeless build. The Arrowhead or Badger...

I would at the very least put a dab of bedding compound in the lug recess to fit your factory lug.

I have this B&C AWR available for $225 shipped ConUs. It’s been bedded to a 1/4” lug with a mag barrel channel. LOP is 13.5” and the weight is 31.8oz.
