    Tyler Sims...?

I took my oldest son on an antelope hunt with Tyler as a high school graduation present before he went into the ARMY. Granted it was almost 10 years ago, but it was one of the best guided hunts that I have been on. I'd be happy to answer any specifics questions you have but the long and short of...

Wyo Task Force - Nonres Comments!

Comments submitted. I'm sitting on 20 years of moose PP at age 54. I'd like to think I can actually draw the tag before I die. Dirty Steve

Contact Tyler Sims in Wyoming. He is very long range friendly. Have hunted with him before and would/will do so again. Dirty Steve

    18 Moose Points - decisions

Appreciate all of your input guys. One of my hunting partners has killed 3 Shiras in Wyoming and is 2 points behind me now. He drew his 3 previous Wyoming tags prior to 2000. Some guys are just lucky. I'm relatively late to the PP game. He convinced me to get in after I was with him for the 3rd...

    18 Moose Points - decisions

Thanks for your comments Cody. Any recommendations for an outfitter? Obviously I know who you do not like. I am not familiar with that part of the State at all. I have always hunted up the Gros Ventre or east of Bondurant.

    18 Moose Points - decisions

I'd written off 1 and 38. Even with 18 points, there are still enough guys ahead of me that I'd be surprised if I could draw either unit.

    18 Moose Points - decisions

If you were sitting on 18 Wyoming moose points and finally felt like you had an opportunity to be able to afford to draw (or at least try) next year, what would be your top unit choices. This will be a guided hunt. I'm not doing a DIY given that I'm 52 now and will never draw this tag again in...

    30-06 or 300mag

Yes,...my best bull to date was taken many years ago at 426 yards with a 180 gr Nosler partition out of an old Ruger M77 30-06. Bang, flop, done. Dirty Steve

What’s your favorite big game hunt ?

Number 1 - For what was a pure adventure at the time, a drop camp caribou hunt in northern Quebec in about 2002. It was not a fish-in-a-barrel migration hunt and we had to cover a tremendous amount of ground on foot each day to even find caribou. The weather sucked every day and I think I...

    Best boots

For the hiking part of the question I'll go with my Salomon Quest 4DGTX hands down. They are supportive and incredibly comfortable. Are they warm,....while I'm hiking and after I've stopped for an hour, yes. Are they for wearing while sitting in a tree stand in 20 degrees, no. Dirty Steve

    Boot Shopping... help?

I run both the Solomon Quest 4D GTX and the Solomon X ALP Mountaineering boots. The mountaineering boot is stiffer, but a good mountain hiking boot with a pack on. The Quest is absolutely the most comfortable boots I have ever worn. I wear a pair almost every day at work and have a pair for just...

Recommendations for 1st Spot and Stalk Hunt

Um,....I wasn't the one asking the question about spot and stalk hunts. Just responding to it. Dirty Steve

Recommendations for 1st Spot and Stalk Hunt

Have to agree on the antelope comment. When you blow the stalk, and you will if you are new to this,...it's not like you won't have an opportunity to try it again 30 minutes later on another group. It's relatively cheap to do and you could do a hunt over your fall break from classes. Dirty...
