Afternoon all, wondering if anyone has any suggestions for a waist bag, something with a decent size compartment or two just for a small medkit, snacks and some drag rope. i have backpacks but they ultimately **** me off when stalking. cheers

for trousers, most are just hiking pants in green or camo. sitka and kuiu inclusive. base layers, anything merino that fits. and boots you are best trying on as many as you can as everyone has their favourite pair/brand. ive thrown all my old socks and now wear darn toughs of different thickness...

the swaros turrets do let them down, i dont know why they havent moved with the times and released something with 'tactical' turrets.

if you are hunting dusk and dawn, light transmission is another thing to think about. nightforce, vortex are very good scopes, but when put next to a schmidt or swaro the difference is enough to make you want to get rid. have never looked through a leupold so cannot compare those.

have had a look at other peoples sauers, the synthetic thumbhole model. it was setup for driven hunting, a fine rifle. save your money on a aftermarket trigger for tikka and stick a ballpoint pen spring in it!

tikka! not sure how much you guys pay for one though. very reliable very consistent.

I had a 22-250 for 3 years, shot around 180 foxes with it. Solid calibre that just works. Used the 52gr eld m and n140.

pm2 is a schmidt and bender scope, there are different models within the pm2 range. ziess are good but the turrets arent built for long range. Just had a look online, you guys have half an hour before and after sunrise/set? its still decent light but buy german glass and youll be fine.

find a PMII, very good in low light, nice turrets, good mag range, swaro are also very good, turrets not so much. steer clear of nightforce for low light. have had multiple of both. i still have my schmidts.. zeiss also very good for low light. we shoot until dark dark here so you quickly see...
