I would choose the 6.5-300 wby. I have one in the ultra lightweight model and it shoots sub 1/2" three shot groups with 127 grain Barnes LRX. Just my opinion. I own a 257 weatherby mag with a 28" barrel in a Ruger #1. It shoots 3/4". I also have a 300 weatherby mark V my first rifle purchased in 1971. 1-1/2" groups. I love my new 6.5-300 weatherby! It is has the best designed stock I have ever shouldered.the most accurate rifle, too. I have hunted as much as anyone I know over 50 years. I come from a family of hunters and started at about 8 with a 22. I have shot just about all the major gun companies manufactured in the USA. I just prefer the feel and accuracy of a weatherby. I am not rich but I have spent my life finding ways to afford to hunt all over this country and for all the game we have here except for sheep and goats. My opinion is too go ahead for a 6.5-300 weatherby. I plan on using mine for the remaining years I have left.
