Wanting to re-barrel my 300. Has asporter factory on it. I am not knowledgeable about contours, so I am asking for advice. Don't want a heavy barrel but don't want a sportier. Rifle will be used on my Alaska hunts. What do you recommend. Thanks a bunch.

i have a #4 kreiger on a sako av. light enough for a carry rifle and accurate. you can go to the barrel manufacturers sites. some give weight of the different contours. what model rifle is it if you dont mind my asking?

Just had a Hart #4 fluted installed on a Rem LSS. The LSS model had a somewhat sporter-ish barrel contour but not super skinny and the #4 Hart sits very nicely in that factory Rem LSS stock. The new barrel is 26in + brake.
