Hi all,

This is the rifle My son-in-law and I picked up at Montour County Rifles. It belongs to him, but I am anxious to shoot it.

6.5-.284 Win
Trued Remington 700 action
Brux 26" 8.5 twist barrel with mini-muscle brake
Russo Stock
Jewell trigger
Holland recoil lug
Pillar bed
Seekins magazine With 5 round clip
8 x 32 x 56 Sightron in Ken Farrell rings
20 moa Ken Farrell base

We hope to shoot 140 Amax at 2950 but as of now it has 0 rounds down the tube. Kevin did a great job and was again great to work with.

That's a good looking rifle you have.

Kevin makes great rifles. He's finishing up a 6-06ai for my dad that I can't wait to see.

Congrats on the new addition!

Just an update on the 6.5-.284. We were able to spend a little time with it this weekend. We worked the 140 A max to about .4" one evening , but the next afternoon the temps were in the mid 90's and our pressures were a little too high. We backed off the powder .5 grains and shot a .360 group followed by a .202. I am well pleased with the 100 yard groups. We will stretch it out from here. These are only three shot groups at 100 yards, but it serves our purpose for the intended use.

Kevin at MCR builds a fine rifle. My experience with the rifles he has worked on has been exceptional. This 6.5 seems to be as good as my .243 Win. which has shot beyond 600 yards on prairie dogs and woodchucks.
